How do I help

Womans Health

Woman have many different roles, needs, and challenges! Emotions, hormones, kids, families, careers, self care, societal expectations, to name a few. The emotional (and physical) load is heavy.  Endometriosis, PCOS, fertility, pregnancy, lactation, menstrual cycle, perimenopause, poor energy levels, stress, and overwhelm. Optimal food and nutrition helps.

Mental Health

Neurodivergence, cognitive, emotional and mood imbalances and disorders, such as ADHD, ASD, chronic stress, depression, anxiety, trauma. The obstacles with mental health are not unique to you, but your journey through them is an incredibly personal one. Time, energy, access, impulsivity, medication side effects, poor executive functioning (deciding, planning, organising, implementing)  overwhelming emotions and relationship with food, appropriate personalised information, inadequate support. Get support to source the best food for YOU that fuels and nourishes the mind and body, and gives you the awareness, knowledge, confidence and stability to implement sustainable changes.

Feeding the whanau

Do you have a family with varying nutritional needs (preferences, allergies, intolerances, sensitivities, energy & growth requirements) but you can’t seem to please everyone and don’t know where to start? I will help you to plan and implement a nutritious, stress free regime so food is a joy, rather than a 5pm stress.

Lifestyle diseases

Pre diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, cancer, weight management– optimise your nutrition to reduce risk of, manage, or minimise effects of these common, yet manageable lifestyle diseases.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Strategically and intuitively explore what is going on for you to create a plan to minimise symptoms and maximise gut health long term.

Sports nutrition

Ensure that all of your training and hard work is maximised by the creation of a tailored eating regime. This focuses on ensuring you have optimal energy to train at the intensity you desire, and the nutrients you need after to cash in on the rebuilding of leaner muscles and a more efficient cardiovascular system. Clear up confusion over the need for quick fixes, extreme regimes and an overload of supplements, so you can also enjoy food and balance in other areas of your life.

Post-concussion syndrome (PCS) & Nutrition Therapy

For your brain to function, it needs to be fueled, hydrated and nourished with good food. Optimal nutrition is particularly vital for the healing of your brain, but it can also help to manage your symptoms following PCS.

Fatigue, taste and smell changes, and loss of hunger and fullness cues, can make it challenging to cope with basic daily tasks, let alone implementing a new eating regime. The good news is that even small changes can help.

BOOK NOW for your appointment to assess your personal nutritional needs, challenges and circumstances. We will then develop a nourishment plan to optimise your recovery.

What is the difference between a Dietitian and a Nutritionist?

Dietitian – The term dietitian is a protected term. A dietitian is a registered health professional who meets standards required by the Dietitians Board and has both an undergraduate science degree in human nutrition and a post-graduate qualification in dietetics. To practise in New Zealand, a dietitian must, by law, be registered with the Dietitians Board and hold a current practising certificate. The Dietitians Board protects the health and safety of the New Zealand public under the Health Practitioners Competency Act (HPCA) 2003, by ensuring that every dietitian working in New Zealand is fit to practice and meets standards of professionalism. In New Zealand dietitians are the only nutrition health profession to be regulated by law. Dietitians work in a variety of settings from hospitals, the community, public health, food service, sports, education, research, media and the food industry.  The Dietitians Board regulates the dietetic profession and only those on the Register can call themselves a dietitian and practise as a dietitian.

Nutritionist – The term nutritionist is not a protected term, there is no specific qualification or statutory legislation that regulates that profession and therefore the title can be used freely by anyone. This could range from someone with a PHD in a specialty area of nutrition to someone with no formal training. The Nutrition Society has a programme for registration of nutritionists where a set criteria must be met to achieve registration status.  Nutritionists can be an associate member of Dietitians NZ if they hold a scientific qualification in human nutrition approved by Dietitians NZ or occupy a prominent position in work or research relating to nutrition or dietetics.

What does a coach do? How is it different from a consultant?

Dietetic consulting provides expert knowledge and advice whilst coaching assists you to access untapped potential and challenge limiting beliefs and behaviours. Result = Positive, credible sustainable change.

Are there payment plans available?

Yes, please just sing out.

Ignited Kendall North - Lifestyle Dietitian

These experiences as a health professional have equipped me to work with a highly varied demographic and a wide breadth of life altering issues and goals that people are challenged to address. This, on top of having my own children, personal wellness challenges, and working in secondary schools, has imparted a wisdom that all change requires a holistic approach in order to sustain wellness long term.

As a practitioner, this means more than just addressing nutrition for the body. The approach I use also supports you to recognise, understand, and integrate non-food related nutrition that is essential for the mind, heart, and soul.
